BusinessWeek.com Rates Buffalo Grove Top for Families
Waterbury Place gives residents easy access to family-friendly amenities

BusinessWeek.com recently tapped Buffalo Grove as one of the 50 best places in the country to raise children, echoing the sentiments of buyers at Waterbury Place, a 31-acre new-construction development in the northwest suburb.

"The BusinessWeek.com rating certainly comes as no surprise to Waterbury Place residents, who know firsthand what a great place Buffalo Grove is to live," said Jeanne Martini, director of sales and marketing for developer Edward R. James Homes. "With its top-notch schools and plentiful recreational opportunities, Buffalo Grove is an extremely family-friendly community. And at Waterbury Place, buyers are in a great location to take advantage of all the area's best amenities."

Waterbury Place (www.TheWaterburyPlace.com) is located at Route 22 and Waterbury Lane. The development includes single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes, rowhomes and villas surrounded by mature landscaping, including more than 50 varieties of trees, ponds with fountains and a one-acre park. Homes at Waterbury Place have two to four bedrooms, 2 or 2½ baths and an attached two-car garage. They range in size from 1,578 to 3,793 square feet and are priced from the $360,000s to the mid-$800,000s.

According to Martini, many buyers are attracted to Waterbury Place by its location near top-rated schools that factored into Buffalo Grove's favorable Businessweek.com ranking. In fact, Waterbury Place is within walking distance of Adlai E. Stevenson High School, one of the nation's top 100 high schools according to Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report.

"Parents love that not only will their children attend such a highly acclaimed school, but they'll also be able to walk home after classes or extracurricular activities," said Martini. "That's a real convenience for working parents."

Waterbury Place is also served by elementary and junior high schools in top-rated District 103, including Laura Sprague Elementary School, Half Day Intermediate School and Daniel Wright Junior High School.

Likewise, Waterbury Place residents have easy access to Buffalo Grove's recreational amenities, which were also highly rated in the Businessweek.com study. Several nearby Lake County forest preserves offer trails for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing, as well as fishing sites and picnic areas.

Residents can also take advantage of programming and facilities through the Buffalo Grove Park District, which has been recognized by the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association Distinguished Agency Program for the quality of its recreational opportunities and services.

Martini noted the range of housing styles at Waterbury Place appeals to a variety of buyers, from families and couples to single professionals and empty nesters.

"There's really something for every homebuyer, whether it's a traditional nuclear family looking for a single-family home or a single parent who wants a townhome or rowhome," she said. "But no matter what housing type they choose, all residents enjoy the convenient maintenance-free lifestyle at Waterbury Place, with snow removal, landscaping, and select exterior upkeep like painting and tuckpointing provided."

Waterbury Place is walking distance from the Prairie View Metra station and is just north of Milwaukee Avenue's restaurant row. Several golf courses, Westfield Hawthorn Mall, City Park Shopping Center, Regal Cinemas and a planned Lifetime Fitness Center are also nearby.

To visit Waterbury Place, take Interstate 294 and exit at Half Day Road and drive west four miles. The sales center, in the new Coventry model, is located at 2114 Apple Hill Lane. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (847) 955-1213 or visit www.TheWaterburyPlace.com.
